Well our adventure around the world continues in the wonderfully hot country of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It has been quite an experience. We arrived here on September 2, 2010. Once off of the plane we were told that we would be housed in a 5 star hotel. Everyone in our group were all very surprised and happy to know that we would have a place to sleep at night (to some of us it didn’t matter how many stars it had). The hotel staff were friendly and very welcoming and did what they could to make our experience wonderful. 

As time went on we began to realize that staying in a 5 star hotel was not all it was cracked up to be. For example, some of us actually like to cook a meal or put clothes in drawers to create that feeling of a home. Go figure!

For the first few weeks of our stay we were in Abu Dhabi. Man is that place hot. It isn’t so much the heat that gets you but the humidity. We would be soaked within 15 minutes of being outside with no hope of drying out. Needless to say, most of our adventures were done in the evenings. Plus nothing was open during the day due to Ramadan. 

It has been wonderful learning about a new culture and experiencing it first hand. We will keep you updated on our adventures here in the UAE
